Current Actions (2002-2003):

  • NCCP competency-based program review completed by CDCA
  • all Diving Canada NCCP materials scanned and made available to review them electronically
  • one-two professional development opportunities per National Team Coach
  • two Level 4-5 tasks delivered
  • one regional Level 3 courses delivered
  • encourage provinces to deliver more level 1 and 2 courses.
  • develop Level V + activities.
  • research coach insurance and benefits programs.
  • complete an inventory as per the performance indicator

Future Actions (strategy for 2002-2004):

  • develop an evaluation and measurement of coaches
  • develop an education strategy for coaches
  • identify “standard of life” measurements and develop strategy to improve (i.e., salary, athlete-coach ratios, recognition, etc.)
  • identify “environmental issues” and what improvements must be made to better coaching in Canada.
