Grandfathering

Coaches in the old system must take an equivalency to obtain certification in the new NCCP.

Pre Level 1 - Must complete Making Ethical Decisions module and online certification. Can be taken as home study or through your provincial multisport centre

Level 1 Certified Coaches - see section on Competition-Introduction

Equivalencies

The Coaching Certification Committee receives a number of requests from coaches with previous diving experience for NCCP certification equivalency. Such requests will be dealt with as follows:

  • Coach submits a letter to the Coaching Certification Committee, c/o Manager Sport Programs, indicating the NCCP certification requested. Letter to include coach’s resume;
  • The committee reviews the request and decides how to deal with the individual situation;
  • The coach is informed, in writing, of the committee’s decision.
  • The coach may be required to complete the workbooks and undertake an evaluation for the context in which he/she is looking for certification.
