DPC's Alumni Newsletter is distributed to former athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers who maintain a passion for the art of diving. Many attend national and provincial championships to reacquaint themselves with old friends and to support our young divers.

Diving Canada Membership Card

Diving Canada is pleased to announce the introduction of a membership card for each registered diver. This is made possible through the use of the Club Link registration software which now makes it possible to assign a specific number to each registered athlete. Each registered diver will be assigned an individual DPC registration number by your provincial section which will then become part of our national database and will be used for all competition entry registration and dive sheet forms.

The second benefit of having each registered diver with an assigned registration number is that it will make competition event entries much easier and efficient for clubs and for host organizations to manage i.e. there won’t be any confusion in the spelling of names because tracking by names will be replaced by tracking by diver’s registration number.

We expect this new initiative will also streamline our ability to produce a national ranking system and an error free picture of qualified junior divers for nationals.

The new system will be operational in January as membership information is due to the national office by provincial sections by December 31st. Both junior and senior registered divers can expect to receive their membership card through their provincial section by the end of January. Once the new system is fully operational, no diver will be allowed to register for a nationally sanctioned meet without having a DPC registration number.

For those clubs who are hosting junior qualifying meets, you will be required to include the athlete registration number in the ISS Meet Management software that you are using for your junior qualifying meet. You will receive an update to the existing software package at the beginning of January for this purpose. For those who have already held qualifying meets, the national office will provide the conversion to your entries data. Membership numbers will also be used for senior national and trials events.

Divers will retain the same registration number throughout their diving career. Divers should remember to bring their membership card with them to meets and, at a minimum should remember their membership number.
