2005 Diving Plongeon Canada Annual General Meeting November 18-20, 2005

Canadian diving invites you to share in a celebration of our entire 2005 World Aquatic Championships Diving team’s performance in Montreal and in conjunction with Diving Plongeon Canada’s Annual General Meeting being held November 18-20, 2005 at the Delta Hotel in downtown Ottawa.

All invitees in the diving community may attend, however Diving Plongeon Canada will cover the expenses of travel, accommodations and meals for only the following delegates:

  • One voting representative from each province
  • Diving Plongeon Canada Board of Directors
  • CDCA Executive
  • Officials Executive
  • Athletes Executive
  • FINA Representatives

Members of the CDCA, Officials, Athlete Executive Committee as well as representatives of the Provincial Sections will each hold their own meeting on Friday, and possibly Thursday evening, and are expected to stay for the rest of the Annual Conference.

HOTEL

The Annual General Meeting will be held at the Delta Ottawa Hotel & Suites at 361 Queen Street, telephone 613-238-6000, fax 613-238-2290. Reservations and rooming lists will be prepared by Diving Plongeon Canada based on the information provided in the registration forms. Diving Plongeon Canada’s policy is two people per room for funded delegates. We will do our best to accommodate requests for preferred roommates however cannot guarantee this.

All delegates are responsible for any incidental charges to their rooms. Diving Plongeon Canada will pay room and tax only. The Diving Plongeon Canada room block at the hotel is for standard rooms.

Hotel amenities include in-room coffee makers, hair dryers, balconies (in the studio rooms only), washing machines and dryers, indoor pool and fitness facility. The hotel is a short walk to Parliament Hill and is located by the Sparks Street pedestrian mall.

AIR FARE

Air fare can be booked through our travel agency Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Anna Zawadzka-Andia, 613-238-4040 ext. 234 or 1-800-465-4040 ext. 234 and please mention our convention number CV053864N .

If you wish to use your own travel agency, please ensure your travel agent quotes this number in the Tour Code Box.

You can save between 5 to 10% on fares. For every 40 tickets booked through this service, Diving Plongeon Canada will receive one free air pass on Air Canada, which we can then use towards booking travel for athletes under our Junior or Senior programs or for other programs of the Association. Even if you purchase a ticket through a seat sale, please ensure this Convention Number is entered so we can still get credit.

COSTS AND PAYMENT – NON-FUNDED DELEGATES

Costs for non-funded delegates are as follows:

Hotel: $120 per night (single occupancy) or $60 per night (double occupancy) plus taxes and any incidentals

Meals: $100 (includes Saturday and Sunday Continental breakfasts, Friday reception, Friday & Saturday lunches and nutritional breaks)

Banquet: $50.00

Payment can be made by cheques, Diner’s Club, MasterCard or by Visa. A 3% administrative charge will be added to credit card charges.

MISCELLANEOUS

SPEEDO GIFT CERTIFICATES FOR DIVING CLUBS

Please note that once again Speedo will be offering three $1000 gift certificates for Speedo merchandise – This draw is only available to clubs who are physically represented at the Conference.

Same as last year, Synchro Canada will be sharing some events such as the Welcoming Reception and Saturday’s lunch with us.

TENTATIVE AGENDA

The tentative schedule for the weekend is as follows:

Friday, November 18

  • Committee meetings (open only to the members of CDCA Executive, Officials Executive, (all day), Athletes Executive and Provincial Sections half a day)
  • Evening Social – Welcome Reception

Saturday, November 19

  • Workshops (all day)
  • Awards Banquet (evening)

Sunday, November 20

  • Annual General Meeting (10:00 until 12 noon)
