Athletes who are taking asthma medications, and who are not part of the Registered Testing Pool, are no longer required to complete and submit an Abbreviated Therapeutic Use Exemption form (ATUE) unless requested by the CCES. Note this is for testing in Canada only, and does NOT apply to international competitions.
Should a diver be selected to compete at an international competition then an ATUE MUST be completed and submitted to FINA at least 3 weeks prior to departure.
For all other types of prohibited substances and methods, the existing Standard Therapeutic Use Exemption process remains in effect, and must be completed by ALL divers, whether or not they are in the registered testing pool.
Divers in the registered testing pool are those who must complete an Athlete Whereabouts Form every 3 months. |
