Herb is one of Canada's top coaches. He has produced over 50 national champions of all ages and events, both senior and junior, including three Olympic team members and one finalist and Commonwealth Games medallists. Herb has coached at the 1988 and 2000 Olympic Games, and many major competitions including Pan Am Games, Commonwealth Games, World University Games, World Cups, and World Aquatic Championships. One of Herb's greatest claims to fame is that he is the inventor of the bubble machine, now a standard at diving pools across the country and around the world.
