Originally a gymnast, Rachel Kemp was first introduced to the sport of diving through a conversation her father had with the national team coach, who was at the time trying to sell his car to the Kemp family.
This Boardworks Diving Club athlete has gone on to win 13 medals at the Speedo Junior National Championships since 2004, and five medals at the Senior National Championships since 2006. She also holds the national record on tower for Group B (14 or 15 years) with 384.15 points.
In 2005, she became the youngest diving medalist in the history of the Canada Games, winning the silver medal on tower in Regina.
The following year, then 13-years old, originally from Moscow, Russia, qualified for the Commonwealth Games where she was the youngest member of the Canadian diving team to participate. She finished in sixth place on 10-metre.
In 2008 at the FINA World Junior Championships, Rachel Kemp won the bronze medal on tower.
