After success as a junior – Kelly is making her mark on the senior national team. She and Meaghan Benfeito won bronze in the 3M synchro event at the 2007 Pan American games.
In 2006 Kelly finished second to world champion Blythe Hartley at the Canadian Summer Nationals on 1M. Kelly looks up to Blythe as a role model for her positive attitude, perseverance and passion for the sport.
In August 2006, Kelly won one of Canada’s three medals at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships claiming the silver medal on 3M.
A member of the Edmonton Kinsmen Diving Club, Kelly has been training with coach Jie Xu, who took over as head coach of the club in the spring 2005. Kelly was introduced to diving during ‘bring a friend’ week which prompted her move from gymnastics and pursue a diving career.
Kelly has been sidelined with injuries for most of the 2007-2008 season. She is looking to regain her form for the Olympic Trials in June.
Kelly aspires to work in sports medicine after her diving career.
