CALGARY– Carol-Ann Ware and Pamela Ware of Montreal won the gold medal in the women’s three-metre synchro event and Dominique Cadieux of Edmonton won the platform in her age group on Sunday to conclude the junior Pan Am diving championships.

In the women’s three-metre synchro, the Ware sisters landed five solid dives for the victory with 304.62 points. It was the fourth medal of the competition for Pamela Ware and a second gold for Carol-Ann Ware who won the tower competition on Saturday. American and Brazilian pairs were second and third.

‘’We didn’t miss any of our dives and we had a lot of fun,’’ said Carol-Ann Ware, who won silver with her sister at Grand Prix event earlier this year. ‘’My focus this season has been on the tower so I was little nervous about doing three-metre but Pamela gave me a lot of encouragement.’’

In the 11 and under platform, 10-year-old Cadieux was the victor with 246.95 points. Alison Maillard of the U.S., was second and Dandara Vyanna of Brazil third.

‘’I stayed focused, listened to what my coach said and it worked out for me,’’ said Cadieux.

Frederique Lalonde of Repentigny, Que., added a silver in the 12-13 three-meter final with Michelle Piper Kulak of Edmonton in fifth.

Other Canadian results on Sunday: Vincent Riendeau of Pointe-Claire, Que., and Philippe Gagné of Montreal were fourth and sixth respectively in the boys 12-13 one-metre; Aidan Faminoff of Victoria and Peter Thach Mai of Montreal were fifth and sixth in the boys 11 and under one-metre; Shane Miszkiel of Victoria and Austin Mix of London, Ont., were fifth and seventh on men’s 16-18 tower; Nicholas Beaupré of Laval, Que., and C.J. Moore of Kitchener, Ont., sixth and seventh in the boys 14-15 three-metre.
