  Diving Canada announces the team that will compete at the FINA Diving World Cup in China  
   

Competition set for June 2 – 6 in China

Ottawa, June 1st, 2010 – After competing at the FINA World Series and at several stops of the FINA Grand Prix, the best Canadian divers were selected to attend the FINA Diving World Cup. This event is the largest competition on the 2010 international diving calendar. Diving Canada is proud to present the team that will represent Canada at the FINA Diving World Cup. The event is scheduled for this week, from June 2nd to 6th, in Changzhou, China.

César Henderson (CAMO, Montreal, QC), Arturo Miranda (Independent, Montreal, QC), Yihua Li (PCDC, Pointe-Claire, QC) and Tommy McLoed (Boardworks, Victoria, BC) are the coaches accompanying the team to China. Gord Peterson of London, Ontario, has been appointed as the Canadian judge for the event. Dr Stephanie Anisko of Toronto, Ontario, is traveling with the team and will serve as the chiropractor and physiotherapist.

About the FINA World Cup

Two years prior to the London Olympics in 2012 and one year before the 2011 FINA World Aquatics Championships in Shanghai, the FINA Diving World Cup is the top international diving event in 2010. Elite divers representing the top diving nations (Canada, China, USA, Russia, Cuba, Australia, etc.) are currently in Changzhou, China, looking forward to competing against the world’s best. Canadian divers qualified for the FINA Diving World Cup based on their performances at the Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix that was held from April 29th to May 2nd in Montreal.
