  Canada opens Dutch Open diving meet with three gold

AMSTERDAM - Morgan Weller of Vancouver, Courtney Hattie of Victoria and Dylan Grisell of Toronto all won gold medals on Friday to open the Dutch Open junior diving competition.

On women‚s one-metre in the 16-18 age group, Weller took the title with 374.90 points. Hailey Casper of Calgary added a bronze finishing at 364.20. Jo-Annie Dubois of Gatineau, Que., was fourth at 358.25. Myriam Selmani of Laval, Que., was 12th and Carey Chen of Vancouver 17th.

In the girls 14-15 platform, Hattie edged compatriot Michelle Piper-Kulak of Edmonton earning 310.10 to 307.15 for Piper-Kulak. Monica Gavaris of Montreal was fifth.

In the boys 14-15 one-metre, Grisell took the crown with a 366.00 score. Vincent Riendeau of Pointe-Claire, Que., was sixth and Sam Valentine of Saskatoon ninth.

In the women‚s one-metre open, Dubois added the silver while Selmani was sixth. In the men‚s 16-18 three-metre Shane Miszkiel of Victoria took the bronze with Cole Miller of Regina fourth and Matt Fyfe of Montreal 13th.

"I did the one-metre four times today and it made for a long day at the pool", said Dubois, making her international debut. "The hardest part was trying to your list better each time. It's a pretty satisfying medal for me".

On men‚s 16-18 tower, Miszkiel was fourth, Fyfe sixth and Miller seventh.
