SINGAPORE – Marc Sabourin-Germain of Mascouche, Que., posted a personal best score on men's three-metre and placed 10th on Sunday in diving action at the Youth Olympic Games.

Bo Qiu of China won the gold medal with 607.15 points, Oleksandr Bondar of Ukraine was second at 565.35 and Michael Hixon of the U.S., was third at 554.65.

Sabourin-Germain, 17, totalled 506.50

"I'm very satisfied with my performance," said Sabourin-Germain, who competed at two senior Grand Prix events this year. "I wasn't too nervous. I just wanted to go out there, have fun and see where I stand against the others."

Sabourin-Germain's coach Aaron Dziver of Montreal was equally pleased.

"He was consistent and made no major mistakes," said Dziver. "He'll take a lot from this experience. To get to the next level he needs to increase the difficulty of his dives and improve other facets such as his the height of his take-offs."

Competition continues Monday.
