Pamela Ware

SINGAPORE – Pamela Ware of Montreal placed fourth on women's three-metre springboard on Monday in diving action at the Youth Olympic Games.

Jiao Liu of China won the gold medal with 511.35 points, Pandelela Pamg of Malaysia was second at 444.15 and Viktoriya Potyekhina of Ukraine third at 433.55. Ware, 17, followed at 431.55.

"I was really happy with my performance overall," said Ware. "My first dive is usually a strong one for me, but I had trouble with it in practice and it carried over to the competition. I just opened up too early and ended up short of the vertical."

Diving competition ends Tuesday with the men's 10-metre tower featuring Marc Sabourin-Germain of Mascouche, Que.
